Srinagar, 1st June 2022: In the last few months in Jammu and Kashmir, the administration has taken a big decision after the cases of target killing of the Hindu community came to the fore.
Now all government employees of the Hindu community working in the Kashmir Valley will be posted in the district headquarters itself.
On Tuesday also a Hindu female teacher Rajni Bala was shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam. This was the 16th target killing in the last 5 months. This, this decision of the administration is important because the employees were constantly demanding that they should get posted only in safe places.
Last month, Rahul Bhat was also murdered by entering the Tehsil premises located in Chandura, a remote area of Badgan.
After this, his family members had alleged that had he been posted at the district headquarters, he would have been alive today.
On Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a meeting with senior officials in Srinagar and took this decision.
According to official sources, all these employees will be given posting in safe places by June 6. It was decided in the meeting that no employee belonging to Hindu, Sikh or minority communities would be given posting in remote areas in Kashmir where the security system is weak.
Not only this, it has also been decided to create an email id to solve the problems of these employees so that the issues can be heard in time. It was revealed in the meeting that there is a need to address the concerns related to the safety of the lower-level employees in all the departments.
Not only this, the Lieutenant Governor said in the meeting that if any officer is lax on complaints, then strict action will be taken against him. It was also discussed in the meeting how to create such an environment so that confidence is instilled among the employees and they feel safe. Senior officers will meet such employees.
The grievances of the employees feeling unsafe will be directly dealt with by the Deputy Commissioner and SP level officers. Significantly, after the murder of Rahul Bhat, the demand of the employees of the Hindu community had intensified that they should be given posting in safe places.
