UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 15, 2020:- The management of District Hospital Udhampur today said that it is providing best health care services to COVID-19 infected patients by following the prescribed treatment protocol.

Medical Superintendent, Dr. Vijay Raina stated that District Hospital Udhampur is designated Covid care health centre with capacity of 100, beds, where COVID-19 patients are admitted.

He further added that since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, 291 patients were admitted in District Hospital Udhampur (DHU) out of which 28 patients were referred to Government Medical College, Jammu and three patients died due to COVID-19 complication and 260 others recovered, which accounts to 98.58% recovery rate.

Medical Superintendent said that Intensive care unit is setup and functional with the support of District Administration, with 39 ventilators received from PM care, while District Administration also released funds for installation of ventilators. “There are sufficient number of ventilators, oxygen cylinders and high oxygen flow equipment available in the hospital.” He added.

Dr Raina said the District Hospital is well equipped for COVID-19 management and said people should not hesitate to visit for health care services to the hospital.

Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla is closely monitoring the working of District hospital and other COVID care centres. He takes meeting of health department on daily basis at 5: pm and imparts necessary instructions wherever required.
