GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 15, 2020: Mega Block Diwas was today organized at 3 blocks of the district Ganderbal during which officials of the line departments listened to the public issues grievances and demands.
They also raised awareness regarding various beneficiary oriented schemes at Lar, Ganderbal and Kangan blocks under the supervision of designated incharge officers.
During the proceedings, the PRIs and locals raised several issues some of which were resolved on the spot while rest were forwarded to the concerned departments for timely redressal.
The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal inspected the proceeding of the program at Ganderbal Block where PRIs and locals of Ganderbal and Sheerpatri blocks apprised him about various issues ranging from better health services and better roads, upgradation of schools and transformers besides other issues.
The DDC directed the officials that the complaints raised like shortage of staff in government offices, absence of staff or complaint against any government employee shall be resolved on spot as per their competence.
To ensure cent percent saturation of various benefit oriented schemes, he exhorted upon the officials to identify the target population for every service, individual beneficiary schemes and various certificates.
He urged the officials of the departments to educate people about the individual beneficiary oriented schemes and appealed to people to take benefit of such schemes that are meant to improve their financial condition.
The DDC also highlighted the purpose of the program and said that the LG Administration is serious about to mitigate the development gaps by way of further strengthening the PRIs and assured that the development issues raised during the B2V program shall be fulfilled in a phased manner.
He maintained that the Block Diwas will continue to be held on every Wednesday at 3 identified locations of the district in a consistent manner to ensure service delivery at the doorsteps of the people.
Among others, SSP Ganderbal, ACD, BDC chairperson and other district officers were present on the occasion.
