Cuttack (Odisha), 20th December 2022: The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack is preparing to host the FIH Hockey World Cup 2022 opening ceremony, hence the district administration has prohibited heavy vehicles carrying minor minerals from operating from January 1 midnight to January 12 midnight.

On January 11, the Hockey World Cup’s opening ceremony will take place at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium.

The Cuttack DM, Bhabani Shankar Chayani, issued an order in this regard on Monday (December 19).

According to Chayani, “The movement of trucks, tractors, tippers carrying sand, chips, stones, and bricks have been prohibited from January 1 until January 12 for their safety as there will be movement of many eminent personalities, VIPs, and VVIPs during the opening ceremony to and from Barabati stadium on January 11.”

The restriction, which is being enforced under the Motor Vehicle Act 115 section 173, will be in place throughout the entire day.
According to the directive, limitations would be put in place in Cuttack and along the road leading to Bhubaneswar.
