Bhubaneswar, 1st April 2023: To address traffic-related problems, the Odisha government is considering launching the eagerly anticipated metro rail service between the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. On the occasion of Utkal Dibasa, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the plan for the metro train service.
Today (April 1), the chief secretary of Odisha, the development commissioner, the 5T, the transport, and the IT secretaries held a high-level meeting to assess the viability of metro train services on various routes.
The metro train service from the Bhubaneswar airport to Trishulia in the first section has received approval from the Odisha government, according to official sources. The airport, train station, Vani Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, Patia, Nandankanan, and Trishulia areas will all be included.
According to reports, the planned metro train service will be expanded to Puri and link the holy town to Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
