JAMMU, DECEMBER 29, 2020: Director Agriculture Production & Farmers’ Welfare, Jammu, Inder Jeet today reviewed the progress in implementation of Fertilizer Trading Facilitation & reforms rolled out by GOI, here at a virtual meeting.
Director Agriculture Production & Farmers’ Welfare, Jammu, who is also the controller of fertilizers for J & K UT, discussed various issues related to Fertilizer Trading in both divisions of the UT.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture, Kashmir Mohd. Iqbal Choudhary – the Deputy Controller of Fertilizers J&K; Deputy Director Agriculture (Central), Inderjeet Singh; Potato Development Officer, Yadvinder Singh; Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Roshan Lal Bhagat; Agriculture Extension Officer (Fertilizers), Neeru Mahajan and Coordinator DBT J&K, Akhil Vaid.
The Chief Agriculture Officers, DAOs of all districts participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
The Director stressed in the need to activate the concerned officers and fertilizer companies for early implementation of Fertilizer Trading related reforms recently rolled out by Government of India. He exhorted upon the fertilizer supplying companies and officers of the Agriculture Department to achieve 100% QR Code installation, up gradation of PoS machines to 3.1 version and submission the list there of at the earliest. He stressed for liquidation of Stocks held by the retailers in their PoS. The physical stock should match with fertilizer availability in iFMS Portal , he added.
Taking note of some irregularities, the Director instructed the concerned officers to cancel the license of the dealers who are not functional for the last one year and recover the PoS machines from such non-functional dealers. He further asked to liquidate their stocks. He further said that fertilizer is the main input for agricultural and horticultural crops and any lacuna from any quarters is unacceptable in timely stocking/supply of the fertilizer in the UT
