Rayagada, 9th May 2022:In the Rayagada district of Odisha, 64 school students were confirmed to be corona infected. The youngsters showed no signs of corona, according to Rayagada District Magistrate Saroj Kumar Mishra. The children have all been separated. Medical teams have been dispatched to the hostels to care for the children. The highest number of cases had been reported in a single day in nearly two months, prompting the health department to issue specific instructions to all district collectors.
The Health Department conducted an RT-PCR test on 257 tribal children from a hostel named ‘Anvesha’ in the Kotlaguda district on May 4, according to information received. 44 guys out of 257 tested positive, and they are all asymptomatic. Following confirmation of Covid infection in children, positive children were segregated from others. The dormitory houses students from Rayagada’s eight English medium schools.
Similarly, Covid infection was discovered in 20 female pupils at Hatmuniguda Government High School in the Bisamaktak block of the district.
The SC/ST Department has directed District Welfare Officers to begin testing and tracking in order to effectively control the spread of COVID cases, make plans for both symptomatic and asymptomatic students’ treatment, and investigate positive students in all department-run schools and hostels, including hostels.
