Meerut, March 7, 2021: A Mahapanchayat was convened by the Congress on Sunday in Kaili village of Sardhana in Meerut. Addressing this Mahapanchayat, National General Secretary of Congress Priyanka Vadra said that no matter how many years it takes to withdraw the agricultural law, Congress will stand with you. She further said that whether it takes 100 days or 100 years, Congress and farmers will not back down.

I will fight till I run out of strength, whether it is 100 days or 100 years

Priyanka Vadra told the farmers at the Mahapanchayat that “I will fight till I have the strength. Whether it is 100 days or 100 years. It is said that Rahul raised the issue of the death of farmers in Parliament but all remained silent on the death of farmers. No ruling party stood up for them in Parliament. Farmers were insulted. They disrespected the farmers by calling them agitators and parasites. She said that like at the Delhi border, protest from village to village. Congress will stand with you when you are in crisis. We owe you. Your fight is my fight. As long as I have strength, I will fight with you. Whether it is 100 days, be 100 years.”

MSP meet will be closed

Priyanka Vadra said, “This is the land of Meerut. This is where the first rebellion started. The first war of independence started from here. The peasants gave us independence. Many people were martyred. The battle was fought because the law of the British was exploiting us. The farmers were not getting a fair price. The same is going to happen with this law. The industrialists will remain in control. The second law is also wonderful. The government markets will be closed for a while. Private markets will open and the minimum support price will cease to be available.”

Priyanka Vadra reached Kaili via Muradnagar, Modinagar by road from Delhi. Congress district president Avnish Kajla said that Priyanka Vadra was accompanied by several senior leaders including UP Congress state president Ajay Kumar Lallu, National Secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, Rohit Chaudhary, and Zubair Khan, former MP Harendra Malik, former MLA Imran Masood, Imran Pratapgarhi. District administration and police officials have also visited the site of the Mahapanchayat site. Buses were also installed at the Mahapanchayat to bring large numbers of farmers. At the same time, the District President said that Congress officials and workers had approached every village. There is a lot of anger among the farmers regarding the three agricultural laws. Farmers are demanding the withdrawal of these laws. Priyanka Vadra was initially supposed to visit Meerut on 15 February.
