Madhya Pradesh, February 16, 2021: An extremely barbaric and gruesome incident has come to light in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, in which a tribal woman was forced to walk for three kilometers while lifting a member of her husband’s family on her shoulders. Videos of the incident are becoming widely viral, in which villagers can be seen walking around the woman with sticks and cricket bats. Those enjoying watching the woman being insulted were seen smiling. At the same time, some also used sticks to beat the woman. It was told that the woman was asked to run with a boy on her shoulders, she would be attacked as soon as she slowed down. The incident occurred between Sagai and Banas Khedi villages in Guna district.

Police has stated that a case has been registered and four accused have been arrested so far. Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajiv Mishra said that the incident took place on 9 February and that he joined on 10 February. The investigation was initiated in connection with the viral video and a case was registered and four accused have been arrested so far.

Mishra said, ‘The woman was punished by her in-laws, as she had left her husband and started living with another man. This is the regressive tradition in this region. The matter is being investigated.’

A video of a woman who was made to walk in MP’s Guna while carrying a boy on her shoulders went viral. She had allegedly left her husband for someone else. Angered by this, his relatives allegedly beat her.

The same, according to media reports, stated in the woman’s complaint that she had separated from her husband by mutual consent and was in a relationship with another man. However, last week, her first husband’s family members and other people from the village came to her house and took her along for punishment.
