Indore, 21st February 2023: An ex-student of Indore BM College in Madhya Pradesh allegedly set fire to the principal of the college. Police said that the accused student was upset due to the delay in getting the mark sheet and hence committed the heinous act.
The incident took place yesterday (Monday) when accused student Ashutosh Srivastava poured petrol on the 49-year-old principal and set him on fire. When the principal rushed to the college building to save herself, other employees tried to put out the fire and rushed her to the hospital. The accused student tried to run away but was caught by the police.
According to the information received from the police officials, the accused student was upset because he was not getting the mark sheet. Not only this, but he also attacked a professor with a knife in October last year. The accused has been arrested by the police, and a case under section 307 has been registered against him.
The Superintendent of Police informed that the accused student also tried to kill himself, but he was caught by the police. “We have come to know that this student failed in the seventh semester. He took the eighth-semester exam and passed it, but he was not getting the mark sheet,” the police official said.
