Lucknow, 26th May 2022: The first budget for the second term of the Yogi government was presented in the assembly today. Many election promises have been fulfilled in a budget of over Rs six lakh crore. While announcing the continuation of the free ration scheme, the government has announced the provision of two free gas cylinders in a year under the Ujjwala scheme.
‘Antyodaya Anna Yojana’ for the poor and free food grains, whole gram, refined soybean oil and salt will be distributed to eligible household cardholders. Apart from this, a provision of Rs 6571 crore 13 lakh has been proposed for the distribution of 2 free LPG cylinder refills to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Under the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the assistance of Rs 15000 is being provided to the eligible girls in 06 different categories through PFMS. In the budget for the financial year 2022-2023, a provision of Rs 1200 crore has been proposed for the scheme.
Furthermore, the Yogi Government proposed a provision of Rs.1675 crore 29 lakh for nutrition to be provided by the state government under the Integrated Child Development Scheme under the nutrition program.
Also, a promise of a rebate in electricity bill to the farmers according to the promise made in the 2022 assembly elections and a 50 percent rebate in electricity bill for irrigation has been announced to the farmers. In the financial year 2022-23, 15,000 tube wells will be installed.
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that old age, destitute women pension and handicapped pension have been increased to 1000 rupees monthly. An amount of Rs 7053 crore 56 lakh has been proposed in the budget for the old age pension scheme. An amount of Rs 4032 crore has been proposed for the destitute women pension scheme. An amount of Rs 1000 crore is proposed for Divyang Maintenance Scheme and Rs 34 crore 50 lakh for Leprosy Disability Maintenance Scheme.
