New Delhi, 11th November 2022: Today (November 11), the Supreme Court has directed the release of six accused, including Nalini and RP Ravichandran, who are serving life sentences in the assassination case of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The court, in its judgment, said that the release is being ordered because of the good conduct of the convicts in jail.

Earlier in May, the Supreme Court had also ordered the release of death row convict Perarivalan.

While pronouncing the verdict on all the six convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, the court remarked that the jailed convicts S Nalini, Jayakumar, RP Ravichandran, Robert Pias, Suthendraraja and Sriharan are released from jail for good conduct.Their conduct in prison was found to be good and all of them had achieved various degrees during their stay in prison.
