SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 16, 2020: Principal Secretary, School Education and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today paid a visit to construction site of Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) Zainakote and inspected the ongoing work on the campus building.
The Principal Secretary was accompanied by Director Skill Development, Sajad Hussain Ganie; Principal ITI of Srinagar, Gogji Bagh; Assistant Executive Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control and other Senior Officers of allied Departments.
The campus building of Centre Institute Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology(CIPET), Centre for Skilling and Technology Support (CSTS) is coming up at Zainakote, Srinagar at a cost of Rs 51.32crores with 50:50 percent share of Central and UT governments. The Jammu and Kashmir Government will be provided Rs 25 crore and 15 Kanals land free of cost for establishment of permanent campus for CIPET at Zainakote in the premises of ITI Zainakote .Earth filling has been started at the said site.
During the visit, Dr Samoon took a detailed round of ITI complex and inspected the infrastructure development works going on there including construction of Administrative block building, Hotel management block building, Hostel building and Workshop building.
On the occasion, the Director Skill Development gave a detail of outlay of CIPET building and other construction works in the ITI Zainakote. He informed that construction of buildings would be completed within six month.
Samoon directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of ongoing works so that the benefits percolate to the students.
Later, the Principal Secretary inspected Boys Higher Secondary in the area.
The Principal Secretary interacted with students and faculty. He was told about the community classes held by the school during pandemic time.
The Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary, Surjeet Kour highlighted various demands and issues of the school before the Principal Secretary. She called for Up-gradation of computer lab, filling-up the vacant posts of teachers etc.
