Chennai, February 16, 2021: A Muslim businessman from Tamil Nadu donated one lakh rupees for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Donors helping build the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh include cobblers and small traders such as daily earners.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad state organization secretary SV Srinivasan said that the central government has established Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJTK). Coupons worth 10, 100 and 1000 rupees have been made for donation in temple construction and a large number of people are coming forward to donate. “Those we are approaching are donating generously as well” he said.

When members of Hindu Munnani and SRJTK volunteers went to WS Habib, he gave them a check of Rs 1,00,008 which shocked the fund collectors.

Property developer Habib told the news agency PTI, “I want to promote communal harmony between Muslims and Hindus. We are all children of God. I have donated funds with this belief.” He said that he is sad to see that some sections describe Muslims as anti-Hindu or anti-country.

Habib said that there is nothing wrong with giving donations for good work. “I didn’t donate to any other temple but the Ram Mandir as it is different. The decades-old Ayodhya dispute has ended,” he said. Hindu Munnani, who was involved in the campaign, said that processions are being organized in different parts of the state to deposit funds.

Hindu Munnani’s Chennai president AT Allangovan said, “All those we are approaching are giving donations of their own will. One person suddenly came out of the crowd and gave a check of Rs 50,000. The response of the Ram devotees was tremendous.” K E Srinivasan, organizer of DAS Jagran Manch Chennai, a unit of RAS, said that not only the rich but also poor people are donating for the construction of the temple.
