Mumbai, April 4: Renowned Maharashtra table tennis player and former international Suhas Kulkarni passed away on Sunday morning. Suhas, 68, who tested positive for COVID 19 was admitted for treatment to Kaushalya Hospital, Thane but succumbed to the virus, this was confirmed by his younger brother Jayant who is also an active TT player.

He is survived by his wife, daughter and son-in-law. Suhas along with his brothers and sisters was actively involved with table tennis and many other sports.

After his playing career, Suhas who was always very cheerful, continued to stay in touch with the sport and was associated with coaching youngsters and also regularly participated in Masters’ TT tournaments at National and International level. He had also won the National Masters’ TT Championship in Indore in 2019.

Suhas’ demise has come as a shock for the entire TT fraternity and has left the sport poorer.
