NOWSHERA, JULY 13, 2020: On the eve of World Population Day, Government Degree College Nowshera organized a National level online quiz competition.
The quiz competition was based on World Population Awareness. This year the theme of the World Population Day is “How to safeguard the health and rights of women and girls amid the pandemic”.
The quiz competition was held to increase awareness of students on various population issues such as importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights.
As many as 70 students from different colleges and universities from across the country participated in the quiz competition enthusiastically.
The quiz was composed in devanagari script. The 1st position was shared by 9 students viz Nishma Jamwal of GDC R.S.Pura, Anoo Radha of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (Punjab), Neeru Devi of GDC R.S.Pura, Sanchi Vaid of GDC Paloura, Nandini Thakur of SVS Women College Rajouri, Chakshu Sharma of GDC Jindrah, Aditi Sharma of GDC Parade, Mansi of GDC R.S Pura and Romani of GDC Billawar. The 2nd position was shared by 3 students viz Rohit Sharma of University of Jammu, Shipali Kumari of GDC Nowshera and Prakriti Sharma of GCW Parade, while the 3rd position was bagged by Riya Gupta of GDC Nowshera.
Dr. Bandana Thakur (Hindi) was the coordinator of the quiz competition and Prof. Atal Bharti (Physics), Dr. Harbhajan Singh (Punjabi) and Prof. Pooja Devi (Botany) were the members of organizing committee.
The Quiz Competition was organized under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal GDC, Nowshera. He encouraged the faculty members to organize more such events for the benefit of the student community
