Delhi, 10th October 2022: Rain continues to lash in Delhi-NCR areas. On Sunday, the havoc of rain was seen in many places. A three-storey building collapsed in the Farash Khana area of Old Delhi. Three people died and eight were injured. At the same time, six children died due to drowning in a pond in Gurugram. The children who died are between the ages of eight and 13.
Three people, including a four-year-old girl, have died in the collapse of a dilapidated building. The rescue team has retrieved two more bodies from the rubble. The deceased have been identified as four-year-old Khushi, 75-year-old Suleman, and 70-year-old Shagufta. Eight people were injured in the accident and are being treated at the hospital. NDRF, CATs, DDMA, fire brigade and local police are working to clear the debris.
DCP Shweta Chauhan said that the girl Khushi was declared dead in the hospital. At the same time, eight injured have been admitted to LNJP Hospital. After this, the rescue team pulled out two more bodies from the rubble. Rescue agencies reached the spot after receiving information about the collapse of the building in the narrow streets of Old Delhi. But due to incessant rain and narrow lanes, rescue work was hampered.
Sukhbir, who was injured in the accident, was passing by the side of the building with his daughter Khushi when all the debris fell on him. Sukhbir had the child in his lap, and both were buried under the rubble. By the time people came out, the girl was dead. Two passers-by, Ankit and Ashok, were also injured in the accident. Both were passing under the building at the time of the accident. Apart from this, the injured Amara, Nilofar, Imran, Sarkar Begum and Syed Zeeshan live in the building. At present, all are being treated in the hospital.
Six children, who had gone to bathe in a pond built on six acres of land near Bajghera village in Gurugram, died due to drowning in the pond on Sunday evening. All the children were residents of Shankar Vihar Colony and were friends. The age of these children is between eight years and 13 years. On receiving information about the incident, the team of SDRF, Civil Defense, Gurugram Police and Fire Department reached the spot for rescue. Pumps were called for rescue. The bodies of all six children were pulled out after a rescue operation that lasted nearly four hours.
According to the information, seven children in the age group of eight to 13 had gone to take bath in a pond built on vacant land near Bajghera village. During this, six children took off their clothes and jumped in the pond to take a bath, while one child did not go to bathe. Seeing the children drowning, he shouted to the guard standing nearby and informed him about the incident. After this, the incident was reported to the police.
