Delhi, 28th November 2022: There are many similarities between the murder of Shraddha Walkar, a young woman from Mumbai, and the murder of Anjan Das, originally from Bihar. In such a situation, the question is arising if the murder of Shraddha was not disclosed, would it have been difficult to uncover the murder of Anjan Das? According to the arrested wife Poonam, Anjan Das was murdered on the night of 30 May. After this, along with their son Deepak, the dead body was kept in the room for the entire night so that all the blood would come out. After this, the next day, the dead body was cut into pieces with a knife, and then the pieces of the dead body were filled in plastic bags and thrown at different places for a few days.

Originally from Bihar, Anjan Das was living in Delhi for a long time. DCP Amit Goyal said that on June 5, several pieces of the body of an unknown person were found at Ramlila Maidan, which was recovered after five days. Initially, the legs were found on the ground. This was followed by the appearance of the hands and head on during the next few days.

According to the DCP, there was a lot of difficulty in identifying the person due to the body being in multiple pieces. For this, the help of body technical analysis was taken and then it was identified. At the same time, door-to-door verification was done to identify the person. During this, information that a person named Anjan Das was missing for five-six months came to light. It was surprising to know that no missing report was lodged at any police station.

The Delhi Police disclosed the Anjan Das murder case on Monday. According to the Delhi Police, on June 5 2022, Pandav Nagar police station was reported to have found pieces of a human body at Ramlila Maidan. Officers who reached the spot found a plastic bag and human organs lying on the side of the deserted bushes of the field. Then, the lower part of a person’s leg was found lying in a rotten condition. Along with this, another part of the human body was found in white polythene.

For the last six months, the police were trying to solve the mystery of this case. During the examination of the fragments of the body, the doctor said that the deceased was an adult male. At the same time, during the re-examination of the CCTV footage installed in the surrounding areas, the police got an important clue. CCTV footage showed that on the intervening night of May 31 and July 1, a woman and a youth had come to throw something in a plastic bag at a deserted place at Ramlila Maidan.

Further, on July 1, both were seen again during day time near the spot where the police found the plastic bag containing the body parts of the deceased. After this, the records of all the missing persons in Delhi and adjoining districts of UP were checked and it was found that a person named Anjan Das was missing for the last few months and his family members neither informed the police nor made any effort to trace him. After this, the police traced the house of Anjan Das in Trilokpuri and interrogated his wife, Poonam Devi, and stepson, Deepak, after which the matter came to light.

When wife Poonam and stepson Deepak were arrested, the Anjan Das murder case came to light. According to the police, Poonam married Anjan Das in 2017. Her first husband’s name was Kallu, from whom she has a son named Deepak, who is accused of murder. Along with this, Poonam also has a daughter from Kallu. After the death of Kallu, Anjan Das became her support.

Anjan Das has eight children from his wife in Bihar. Anjan Das had sold Poonam’s jewellery and sent the money to Bihar, but did not let Poonam know about it. He was completely dependent on Poonam. He used to drink alcohol and also did not work. Because of this, there used to be frequent quarrels between the two.

Anjan Das and Poonam had no children of their own. If Poonam is to be believed, Anjan Das, who was in love, could not adopt Deepak and her daughter. At the same time, he also kept a bad eye on the daughter and Deepak’s wife. When the water passed over the head, the mother-son decided to kill it. Under a complete conspiracy, on May 30, both of them made him drink alcohol by adding sleeping medicine. When he fainted, Deepak slit his throat. After this, his dead body was kept in the room overnight, so that the blood would drain out completely. After this, the next day, the dead body was cut into about 10 pieces and thrown at different places. A week later, in the late evening of June 5, police found the foot of the body. Then over the next several days, other body parts were found one by one. In the course of the investigation, DNA matching of the body pieces will be done with Anjan Das’s family from Bihar.
