RAJOURI, JUNE 11: District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, today convened a meeting with the Block Development Council Chairpersons of the district to assess and redress the issues and concerns of their respective areas.
BDC Chairpersons, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted major issues of their areas including improvement in drinking water facility, augmentation of power supply and medicare facilities, improvement in road conditions, paucity of staff in health and education institutions, replacement of worn-out PHE pipes, shortage of electricity poles etc.
Deputy Commissioner, while responding to issues raised by the Chairpersons, said that the district administration is committed to provide all basic facilities at the doorsteps of the public and necessary steps in this regard are being taken up. He assured them that all their genuine demands and issues will be redressed in a phased manner.
Deputy Commissioner asked the Chairpersons to hold regular meetings with Sarpanchs and Panchs to brief them about the guidelines of all major schemes of the government for effective implementation. He asked them to ensure proper monitoring of all the schemes being implemented in their areas and also bring in the notice of the district administration any issue impeding the progress of their areas.
Meanwhile, Arun Sharma, BDC Chairperson Sunderbani handed over a cheque of Rs.51000, out of his personal savings, to the Deputy Commissioner as a contribution towards the fight against Corona Virus in the district.
