Patna, February 22, 2021: The health department in Bihar has become alert due to rising cases of coronavirus disease (COVID19) in five states of the country – Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.



The department has directed the civil surgeons of all the districts to monitor the screening and treatment of corona infected persons during the meeting through video conferencing. Senior officials of the department will again hold a meeting with civil surgeons of all districts today to discuss preparations for dealing with the corona epidemic.



In all 38 districts of Bihar, the district level helpline is providing medical counselling assistance. On the 24-hour toll-free helpline, anyone can call and consult doctors about symptoms related to the corona epidemic. The helpline can be accessed from the nearest treatment centres.
