Bihar, 11th January 2023: In Buxar, angry with the barbaric action of the police on Tuesday night, the farmers became furious on Wednesday morning, after which they attacked the police and their vehicles. The angry farmers did not stop there and went inside the plant and ransacked it.

The farmers were protesting against the compensation for land acquisition for the pipeline and railway line related to the thermal power project in Chausa of Buxar district. On Tuesday night, farmers came out on the streets to protest against the beating of the police by entering their homes and started creating a nuisance.

Angry farmers left the villages in groups on Wednesday morning. Around 9 am, around 500 farmers beat up some policemen near Akhoripur Gola. After this, they reached the power plant and started vandalizing by entering inside. There was a disturbance here from 9.30 to around 11 o’clock, where many vehicles were set on fire.

In the rescue, aerial firing was done by the security guards of the plant and the police. However, during this time, no police force could reach from outside. The police force started arriving from outside an hour and a half after the farmers came out of the power plant. DM Aman Sameer, SP Manish Kumar and all senior police and administration officials of Buxar district reached the spot. DIG Naveen Chandra Jha also reached the plant at quarter to three in the afternoon. Police from all the police stations of the district have been called and deployed here.

Force has also been called from the police line. Fire engines of the entire district have been deployed to extinguish the fire. Even after three hours of hard work, smoke is rising in many places. The disturbance of the farmers was confined to the outer part of the plant. There is no significant damage inside. Police have detained some farmers. Here, the workers working inside the plant have fled due to fear. Now the situation is completely under control on the spot, but the people of the adjacent villages are afraid of police action. Most of the shops in Chausa market remained closed for the whole day.

The farmers were demonstrating the issue of land acquisition for the water supply pipeline and railway line related to the thermal power plant being built near Chausa. In protest, the farmers had locked the main gate of the under-construction powerhouse. The administration did not protest against this then, but as soon as the night fell, a large number of police forces reached the affected villages. During this, the police barged into the houses of many farmers and beat them mercilessly. The farmers have also set fire to the police van.

Videos of fighting with farmers are also going viral on social media. The farmers claim that the police reached the houses of the farmers of Banarpur and other affected villages after midnight. During this, the police forcefully entered the houses and beat up the farmers.
