New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against a Director (Telecom), Research Design and Standards Organization (Ministry of Railways), Manak Nagar, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) and his wife on the allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
Name of the accused as Navneet Kumar Varma,Director (Telecom), RDSO, Lucknow and Gunja Verma.
It was alleged that the said public servant, an officer of IRSSE 2006 Batch, after promotion to the post of Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer (Sr. DSTE), had served at Eastern Railway, Malda Town (West Bengal) during the period 2015 to 2016. Thereafter, he joined as Joint Director (S&T), Urban Transport & High Speed, RDSO, Lucknow, where he remained posted from 2017 to August, 2018. It was further alleged that the said public servant had acquired assets to the tune of Rs.76,45,092/- (approx) which were disproportionate to his known sources of income during the period from 01.01.2015 to 31.12.2017. It was also alleged that during the said period, the accused had acquired immovable & movable assets, amounting to Rs.81,42,360/-(approx) in his name and in the name of his wife.
Searches are being conducted today at 04 locations including at Lucknow, Jaunpur and Mau (Uttar Pradesh) in the office & residential premises of the accused which has led to recovery of several incriminating documents.
