Katihar, February 23, 2021: In a horrific road accident at least six people died in Katihar today. The accident took place near NH 31 under Kursela police station area of Katihar.

‌According to police, this incident took place on the Kursela bridge around 4 am. All the deceased are said to be residents of Rosera in Samastipur district, who had come to see a boy for marriage in Phulwaria. All the family members were in a Scorpio. The SUV collided and crashed into a truck. Due to the heavy collision, 6 people died, while 3 people were seriously injured.

The treatment of the injured is going on in a nearby hospital, while the local administration has reached the spot and started further investigation.


One of the person injured in this incident told mediapersons that the accident while they were going to their village. A truck was standing on the way, but due to the fog, the driver could not see it and the SUV collided.

Police officer Shivnath Hazra who reached the spot said that the treatment of the injured is going on in the hospital. The victims of the accident are residents of Rosara and were preparing to go there.
