Lucknow, 14th January 2021: Award-winning veteran journalist Kamal Khan died of a heart attack today at his house in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He worked with NDTV for over 30 years.
He was mainly involved in TV journalism. Kamal Khan was known for his graceful language and reporting on the political scenario of Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, it is said that his health condition suddenly worsened in the morning and after a while, he passed away due to a heart attack.
Khan received the Ramnath Goenka Award in the year 2010. He was also awarded the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi award by the President of India.
Numerous politicians and journalists mourned the death of Kamal Khan.
Former UP Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav sent his condolences by tweeting, “The passing of Kamal Khan Ji, who emerged as a serious voice of journalism, is very sad! The deep voice of his truth will always remain…Heartfelt tribute!”
Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal also tweeted saying, “Very sad. The sudden demise of famous journalist Kamal Khan Ji is a big loss for the world of journalism. I pray to God to give strength to his family to bear this loss.”
Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her shock over Kamal’s death by tweeting, “Shocked to hear about the passing away of senior journalist Shri Kamal Khan Ji. A lot of things happened during my meeting with him a few days back. He kept alive the values of truth and public interest in journalism. My deepest condolences to the family members of Shri Kamal Khan Ji.”
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said,“Received the sad news of the untimely demise of senior journalist Kamal Khan Ji. His departure has caused an irreparable loss to the fourth pillar of democracy. May God give peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this grief.”
