New Delhi, 29  April 2021: District magistrate Shailesh Yadav, who misbehaved with people during a marriage hall in Western Tripura, has been suspended.

As per the media report, the action was taken after a video of the DM’s misconduct went viral. Chief Minister Biplab Deb also sought a detailed report after the matter highlighted and has now been suspended.

DM Shailesh Yadav also apologized after the video went viral on social media. He said that his motive was not to humiliate anyone but to do so for the good of the people.

In a video viral on social media, DM Shailesh Kumar Yadav was seen stopping a wedding ceremony in Manikya Court. Not only this, but he also drove the bride and groom out of the marriage hall. In the viral video, DM Shailesh appeared very angry and while raiding the marriage hall, the DM ordered to arrest those who did not follow the COVID guidelines. He even threatened to close two marriage halls, including the Manikya court.

Amidst increasing cases of corona in Tripura, the government has imposed a seven-hour night curfew. Night curfew time begins at ten o’clock at night. The night curfew will continue until April 30
