New Delhi, 18th February 2023: On Friday (February 17), Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of International Sales informed that as part of its expansion strategy, IndiGo has partnered with Turkish Airlines to increase its presence in Europe and has ordered close to 500 additional aircraft.
He added that this will enhance passenger services from India to Istanbul and Europe.

Officials from the airline claim that IndiGo has placed orders for both Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

The order follows Air India’s previous purchase of 840 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, of which 470 are firm orders and the remaining 370 are options.

Referring to Air India’s recent purchase of 470 aircraft, Malhotra said, “Competition is always welcome. As soon as Indians have passports, they immediately want to book flights abroad. There is a tonne of opportunity for travellers who want to venture both domestically and internationally. So, we are in a good position to transport people outside of India at this particular moment.”
