Pune, 15th July 2022: A Pune-based jewellery firm Bonisa has launched ‘EkIndia Mission’ to gift ‘commitment rings’ made of silver, gold, diamond and soil from different states to 7,500 soldiers this year to mark India’s 75th year of Independence, ‘Bharat ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

As part of the initiative, 88 veteran soldiers at the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre (PRC), Khadki, were given the ‘EkIndia Rings’ at a ceremony on Thursday evening.

Sanket B Biyani, the partner of Bonisa (Sanbal Jewellery LLP) along with his brother Sandesh Biyani and sister Neha Mundra, thought about the initiative a year ago.

Sanket informed, “The ‘EkIndia Ring’ is made up of silver (which keeps us calm), gold (which symbolizes ‘Bharat’), soils from every state of our country (for unity), and a diamond (as everyone of us is a diamond). The ring is the world’s first commitment ring for any nation, and we aim to give it to more than 7500 soldiers this year. The ring is made of silver and ‘Bharat’ written on it is gold plated which symbolises India as ‘sone ki chidiya’.”

He added, “We are good at making wedding rings and hence thought about a ‘commitment ring’ to symbolize the unity of our country. The idea about the ring came to my mind while listening to a podcast. We decided to give the rings to the soldiers here to express our gratitude. I think commitment is not just limited to husband-wife or other relations. The commitment is to our country as well. So, anyone can gift this ring to our soldiers and be a part of this movement by visiting our website: (www.indiaek.com) or can visit our Instagram account: (Bonisabysanbal). Also, we aim at gifting it with the help of contributions of people.”

Colonel Dr Ratan Kumar Mukherjee (retd), Medical Director and Secretary, PRC, said, “This initiative by Bonisa is praiseworthy, and I want to thank them as they thought of honoring the soldiers of our centre. This ring will surely help to inculcate positivity and dignity among the soldiers.”

Radhakrishnan, ex-Navy Artificer, said, “It is a big honor to us, and significantly the initiative is really very helpful for our country’s unity.”

Moreover, while expressing his gratitude, veteran Army soldier Bhopal Singh appealed to the youth to lead the nation.

Renowned magician Chandrankit Sharma entertained the audience through his magic and skills during the program.
