Hyderabad, 22nd December 2022: The 35th edition of the ‘Hyderabad National Book Fair’ begins today at Telangana Kala Bharathi, NTR stadium. It will last till 1st January.

The chairman of the organising body Telangana Sahitya Akademi, Juluru Gauri Shankar said that they expect around 10 lakh people to visit the book fair. Around 340 book stalls have been set up and this time their premises have been named after popular short story writers, Midde Ramulu and Alishetty Prabhakar.

Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrasekhar Rao said, “This year the Mana Mukhyamantri Stall will also be put up at the book festival, with works by different authors on Chief Ministers. Books on social programmes and nation-building will have their own stands. Telugu, Hindi, English, and Urdu, along with other Indian language literature would also be available.”

Special stalls for some authors would be put up. The literary organisation, The Writers’ Hall will organise their own books so that they can interact with the readers during the event.

Old books can be donated at the fair. These books will be later distributed to local libraries and public schools. The book fair will be open from 2 pm to 8.30 pm on weekdays and from 1 pm to 9 pm on weekends and public holidays.
