New Delhi, 13th May 2021: India could get a third weapon in the war from Corona next week. Russian-made Sputnik vaccine may be available in India from next week. VK Paul, a member of the Health Committee of the Policy Commission said that the Sputnik vaccine has reached India. I am happy to announce this and hope that it will be available in the market from next week.
We expect that the limited supply from Russia will be available for sale from next week. Paul said that more consignments of this vaccine will come. He said that the production of the Sputnik vaccine is also going to start in July in India.
15.6 crore doses of the Sputnik vaccine will be prepared in India. At present, about 180 million corona vaccines have been given in the country till now. The United States has the highest number of 260 million vaccines.
India ranks third in terms of corona vaccines. “We are pleased that one-third of people in the country over the age of 45 have been protected from corona,” Paul said. 88 percent of people aged 45 or over have died from the corona. In this case, vaccination of people of this age group was necessary and this is the first focus.
On the other hand, Love Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health, has said that corona cases in 187 districts of the country have been witnessing a steady decline for the past two weeks. In states like UP, Delhi, the positivity rate has come down. Apart from this, the situation has also improved in Bihar and the number of active cases has come down to less than one lakh.
