Pune, 22nd April 2022: IPS officer Sandeep Karnik took over as the Joint Commissioner of Police of Pune Police today from outgoing Jt CP Ravindra Shisve.

Earlier, he visited the rich Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple and paid his obeisance.

The transfers of senior IPS officers in Maharashtra were made late Wednesday night by the state government’s home department. Accordingly, Karnik, who has been working as Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) of Mumbai Police, has been appointed as Joint Commissioner of Police (law and order) of Pune police.

Karnik has previously served as Pune Rural Superintendent of Police in 2011.

Meanwhile, former Pune Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Shisve has been appointed as the Special Inspector General of Police of the State Human Rights Commission.
