New Delhi, 25th May 2021: Railways have sprung to prepare for departmental action against Olympian Sushil Kumar, arrested under Sagar murder case.

CPRO Deepak Kumar informed through a Tweet that Sushil Kumar has been suspended. An order for his suspension has been issued and it will continue till further orders. He was posted as Senior Commercial Manager in Northern Railway and has been in the Delhi government on deputation since 2015. He was posted as Special Work Officer (OSD) at the Chhatrasal Stadium for the development of sports at the school level.

Earlier on Monday, railway officials had said that in the year 2020, his period of deputation was extended and this year was applied for an extension of service. The application has been rejected for extension of service and has been sent back to Northern Railway.

He and another accused have been arrested on Sunday after being absconding for 18 days on the charge of killing a wrestler at Chhatrasal Stadium. In this regard, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway Deepak Kumar says that the report of the Delhi Government has been received by the Railways on Sunday. An FIR has been lodged against Sushil Kumar and he will be suspended.

Sushil Kumar was arrested from Mundka in Delhi on Sunday, under murder charges of the wrestler Sagar Dhankhar. He and his aide Ajay Sehrawat were questioned by the Crime Branch on Monday, in their Shakarpur office for about six hours. Police are interrogating them to find out the nine other absconding accused so that they can be nabbed at the earliest.
