Rajasthan: Rape Accused Set Victim On Fire Afer Being Released On Bail

Jaipur, 5th March 2021: A 30-year-old victim was burnt alive around 1 pm on Thursday by a rape accused in the Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan.

According to police, 70% of the victim’s body has been burnt and she is undergoing treatment at Bikaner in critical condition. The victim runs a beauty parlour and was staying with her grandmother for a few days after getting separated from her husband.

Bikaner range Inspector General (IG) Prafulla Kumar said, ‘We have taken the accused into custody. His name is Pradeep Bishnoi.”

On Thursday, on receiving information about the incident, the police visited the spot and also recovered some other items including empty bottles which were used to set the fire.

Police are also investigating footage of CCTV cameras installed near the scene of the incident. A CCTV camera is installed near the victim’s grandmother’s house. In its footage, a young man is seen coming on a bike.

Police said the victim had filed a rape case against Pradeep Bishnoi two years ago. He came out of jail on bail. Police said that the case is being investigated from every angle.

The victim’s grandmother told the police that the accused broke into her house by crossing the wall and then they entered the house from the main gate. The victim’s brother was sleeping outside the room. The accused tied her gate with a rope so that it does not open. After this, the accused entered the victim’s room and burnt her alive and then escaped from there.
