Lucknow, 17th June 2022: The shortage of specialist doctors in UP will be solved soon as the state may increase some PG seats. On Thursday, there was a discussion held in New Delhi between the officials of the Union Health Ministry and the Medical Education Department regarding this. The principals of 10 medical colleges of the state proposed to increase the seats. The number of seats is different in all the colleges.
Due to non-fulfillment of the standards set by the Medical Council of India (MCI), PG seats were not increasing in the medical colleges of UP. While its direct impact is on the studies of medical students, the number of specialist teachers is also decreasing.
To remove this gap, the state government has made arrangements for new teachers in medical colleges in the past.
