New Delhi, 5th September 2022: The CBI said that the investigation of the Excise Policy case is going on, in such a situation no clean chit has been given to any accused. Sisodia’s statement is misleading and an attempt to divert attention from the investigation of this case.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday claimed that a CBI officer committed suicide because he was pressurized to falsely implicate me in an excise case. However, the CBI has strongly denied Manish Sisodia’s statement as misleading. On Sisodia’s statement regarding the suicide of a CBI officer, the CBI has clarified that the late officer Jitendra Kumar was not associated in any way with the investigation of the Excise case. Jitendra Kumar was only supervising the prosecutors who are already hearing charge-sheeted cases in Delhi. The CBI also made it clear that in the suicide note received by the Delhi Police probing the officer’s death, he has not held anyone responsible for his death.
Sisodia’s statement is an attempt to divert attention from the investigation. Manish Sisodia on Monday claimed that a CBI officer committed suicide because he was pressurized to implicate me in a false excise case. Sisodia also hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he only thinks of destabilizing governments in non-BJP states by horse-trading. The CBI raided Sisodia’s Delhi residence last month after registering an FIR to probe alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy brought in in November last year.
