Delhi, 28th October 2022: According to data shared by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman, M Jagadesh Kumar, Master of Business Administration (MBA) is the most popular online course.

MBA is followed by a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA). For the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) programme, a total of 28,956 students enrolled in the syllabus, followed by BBA, MCA- 5,430 students, BCA- 5,166 students, and Bachelor of Arts (BA) – 4,028 students. The data includes candidates from both India and abroad.

According to UGC data, the number of students enrolling in online courses has increased from 2020-21 to 2021-22. The number of students enrolled in 2021-22 is 72,400, which is much higher than the 25,905 students in 2020-21.

According to UGC President Jagdish Kumar, online programs provide opportunities to many students who are unable to physically join a college or university. “However, it will accelerate further when we announce a National Digital University with flexible online education norms,” the UGC chairman said.

Through the online program, students can acquire the skills and knowledge to acquire high-quality education. “We need to leverage modern digital technologies to create engaging digital content and reach out to students using the growing internet availability,” Kumar said.
