Maharashtra: Major rank officer arrested in case of leak of army recruitment examination

Pune, March 08, 2021: A Major rank officer of the army was arrested on Sunday for leaking the Army Recruitment Exam form. A senior Pune Police official said that this military officer is the ninth arrest in the case. The Pune police arrested him in Tamil Nadu. The accused has been brought to Pune where he will be produced in court.

Earlier, two army officers and three others were arrested after leaking the Army recruitment examination form to be held on February 28. Not only this, the examination conducted at 40 other centers including Pune was canceled. Two cases have been registered in Pune in connection with the pamphlet leak. One case has been registered in Navwadi police station in connection with leakage of paper, while another case related to forgery has been registered in Vishrambagh police station.

The Pune police had earlier arrested eight accused in the case, including two serving defense personnel, one defense civilian and some who were running pre-military training institutes in different parts of the country. There were apprehensions of the hand of an inner officer or employee in the paper leak. In this case investigation is underway in two to three districts. Due to the paper leak, it was canceled prematurely.
