New Delhi, 5 April 2021: The rate of corona epidemic in India is becoming fatal. More than one lakh new cases of coronavirus were reported across the country, which is the highest single-day cases in the country.

Last year on September 17, the highest number of 97,894 cases of the corona was found in a single day in the country.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry till eight o’clock in the morning, 1,03,558 new cases of covid-19 have been found in India in the last 24 hours. The total number of infected cases in the country has increased to 1,25,89,067. According to the data, 478 more people have died due to the epidemic on Monday, putting forward the death toll to 1,65,101. The total number of active cases in the country is 7,41,830 and the total number of discharged cases is 1,16,82,136.

On Sunday, PM Modi held a high-level review meeting because of the growing cases of the corona epidemic across the country and intensified the adoption of testing, tracing, treatment and vaccination with utmost seriousness to prevent the spread of infection. The meeting brought up concerns over the situation in Maharashtra, Punjab and Chhattisgarh and for this cause, the Prime Minister directed to send a central team of public health experts and doctors to these states.
