New Delhi, 25th February 2023: India ranked 42 out of 55 countries in the most recent US Chamber of Commerce International IP Index survey.
The annual International IP Index evaluates the protection of intellectual property rights in 55 of the richest countries, which together represent 90% of the world’s GDP.
The paper discusses a wide range of subjects, such as ratifying international agreements, following patent and copyright laws, and being able to monetize Intellectual assets.
The study highlights the multiple national and international policies that pose a danger to IP rights.
According to Patrick Kilbride, senior vice-president of the US Chamber of Commerce Global Innovation Policy Center, which produces the annual report, “India is ripe to become a leader for emerging markets seeking to transform their economies through IP-driven innovation as its size and economic influence on the global stage increase.
