Ghaziabad, 14th November 2022: Four years ago, the crime branch revealed an incident of the disappearance of a young man under suspicious circumstances from Sikrod village of Sihani Gate police station area of Ghaziabad. According to the police, the wife of the missing youth, along with her lover, had murdered the young man. After shooting him in the head, the lover buried the dead body by digging a pit in their own house.
Chandraveer alias Pappu, a resident of Sikrod village, had gone missing under suspicious circumstances about four years ago. Pappu’s brother had lodged a missing complaint at the Sihani Gate police station. On finding no clue of Pappu, the Sihani Gate police filed a final report. In the past, when the SSP ordered the investigation of such cases, the crime branch became active again.
SP Crime Dr Deeksha Sharma says that when the 16-year-old daughter of the deceased was questioned, she expressed doubt about her mother and neighbour. When the police interrogated both of them in custody, the entire matter came to light.
SP Crime said that the deceased’s wife, Savita, had illicit relations with her neighbour Arun alias Anil Kumar. One day Chandraveer had seen both of them in an objectionable condition. Since then, he was becoming a hindrance in their illegal relationship. Due to this, the wife and her lover made a sinister plan to remove Chandraveer from the way.
On 28 September 2018, Chandraveer had fallen asleep after drinking alcohol. Meanwhile, the neighbour Arun jumped the wall and entered his house and killed Chandraveer, who was sleeping on the cot, by shooting him in the head. As per the plan, he buried the body in a pit dug in his house.
SP Crime said that before shooting Chandraveer, Arun had put a bucket under his head. After the shooting, when all the blood was collected, he took the dead body to his house and buried it. While burying the dead body, Chandraveer had a bangle in his hand, on which his name was written. Chandraveer chopped off his hand with an axe and threw it behind a chemical factory when the bracelet did not come out even after a lot of effort.
SP Crime says that the skeleton of the dead body has been recovered from the pit at the behest of the accused. The pistol and axe used in the incident have also been recovered.
