Patna, December 24, 2020: Due to coronavirus pandemic, all schools-colleges and coaching institutes etc. are closed in Bihar for the last nine months. Now from the first week of January 2021 schools, colleges and coaching institutes will open. The State Education Department has issued a guideline (Bihar Government Guideline For School Reopening). Wearing masks, following physical distance and sanitization have been made mandatory in educational institutions.

According to the Department of Education, schools will be open for class 9th to 12 from January 4. Colleges are being opened only for final year students. A week later, the Disaster Management Department will review the situation. If the corona infection does not increase after the opening of the school-college, classes from 1st to 8th will also start from January 18. The situation will be reviewed continuously every week.

According to the notification of the department, it has been made mandatory to wear masks in schools and use of sanitiser. Six feet physical distance is to be followed between students. Only half the students will be allowed in a day. If a student attends Monday’s class, then his next attendance will be on Wednesday. Similarly, the next class of students who will be present on Tuesday will not come before Thursday. In the meantime, online classes will continue to operate.
