New Delhi, 16th June 2021: For the convenience of the people, the central government has done away with the requirement of prior registration on CoWin. According to the new rule of the government, any person can go to his nearest vaccination centre and get on-site registration and get the vaccine.

The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday made online registration for vaccination registration non-mandatory, as per the new rules of the government a person aged above 18 years is liable to get the vaccine directly from the vaccination centre.

The health ministry said: “The facilitated registration through the Common Service Centers (CSCs) on Co-WIN, is just one of the many modes of registration on Co-WIN.”

The central government also informed that health workers and ASHA workers will go to rural areas and urban slums to make the corona vaccine reach every nook and corner of the country and make people aware of on-site registration. A helpline number 1075 has been activated to assist in the process.

According to Health Ministry data, out of 28.36 crore registrations done through CoWin till June 13, 16.45 crore (58 per cent) beneficiaries have done on-site registration.

The Corona Vaccination Campaign in India started on 16 January. Since January 16, more than 26 crore people in the country have been given doses of vaccine.

The second wave of corona in the country is continuously weakening but the danger remains. The vaccine is considered to be the most effective weapon in the war against Corona. In this regard, corona vaccination is being run across the country. The government has made the rules of vaccination easier so that people of all classes in the country can get the vaccine easily.
