Dehradun, February 23, 2021: Uttarakhand has thus far been successful in controlling the spread of the Coronavirus. Since not a single case has been found in many districts, temporary relief persists, however, cases in other states continue to increase steadily. In view of people traveling from other states to Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand government has tightened the noose for precaution’s sake. People entering Uttarakhand will have to undergo mandatory testing at the border itself.
Five states viz. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Chattisgarh are witnessing a steady increase in corona cases. Precaution is being taken by Uttarakhand so that the residents are not affected by the people coming from other states. Passengers arriving from these states are being enquired and tested at the state borders, railway station, and Dehradun Airport as informed by Dehradun District Magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava.
On Monday, 32 more cases of Corona have risen in the state. Simultaneously two corona-infected patients lost their lives. According to the Health Department, on Monday, they received the test reports of 5867 samples from private and government labs out of which 5835 reports are negative. No new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in six districts namely Chamoli, Bageshwar, Almora, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi. Till now 96,719 cases have been reported in the state out of which 93,230 people have recovered. At present, there are 411 active cases and 1689 patients with Coronavirus have lost the battle.
