Dehradun, 23 Feb 2021: Where many states in India are struggling to combat the Coronavirus, on the other hand, Uttarakhand has been successful in controlling the spread of Coronavirus. No new cases have been reported in many districts in Uttarakhand so far. However, the movement of people from other states has created the risk of spreading the virus. The Uttarakhand government has started testing the people coming from other states on the border to control the spread of the virus.

Five states, namely Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, are witnessing a steady increase in corona cases. Hence, precautions are being taken to check the infections from people coming from these states. According to Dehradun District Magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava, passengers arriving from these states are being tested at the state borders, railway station, and Dehradun Airport.

Thirty-two Corona cases have been reported in the state on Monday, and two persons have died due to Coronavirus. According to the Health Department, on Monday, test reports of 5867 samples were received from private and government labs, out of which 5835 reports are reported negative. No new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Chamoli, Bageshwar, Almora, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi district. So far, 96719 cases have been reported in the state, out of which 93230 people have become healthy. There are currently 411 active cases, and 1689 patients have died due to Coronavirus.
