Pune, 16th May 2022: The prices of the anti-coronavirus vaccine Corbevax have been reduced. The cost of the vaccine has been reduced to Rs 250. Earlier its price was fixed at Rs 840.

According to the information given by Biological E Limited (BE), the user will have to pay Rs 400 for this vaccine. This will include taxes and vaccination fees.

Last April the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) approved the emergency use of Corbevax against Coronavirus for children aged 5 to 12 years. Currently, the Corbevax vaccine is being given to children of the age group of 12 to 14 years.

According to information provided by Biological E Ltd, they have so far manufactured around 300 million doses of Corbevax vaccine. Out of which about 10 crore doses have been supplied to the Central Government so far.

More than 30 million children in the age group of 12 to 15 years have taken a dose of Corbevax vaccine.

Significantly, vaccination against Coronavirus for minors in the country started from January 3. Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin was then being used for adolescents aged 15 to 18. At the same time, on 16 March, expanding the campaign, the use of Corbevax vaccine was started for children above the age of 12 years. At present, two vaccines against corona are being administered to children above the age of 12 years in the country.
