New Delhi, 17th January 2023: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seized 17 kg gold and Rs 1.57 crore in cash during a raid at the premises of a retired Principal Chief Commercial Manager of Railways in Bhubaneswar. CBI officials informed about the raid on Tuesday.

The agency had on 3rd January registered a case against Pramod Kumar Jena, a 1989 batch Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Pramod Kumar Jena retired in November of last year. The retired officer is accused of allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches at Pramod Kumar Jena’s premises in Bhubaneswar, officials said. During this, he got successful. CBI has recovered over Rs 1.57 crore in cash, 17 kg of gold and jewellery from the premises of Pramod Kumar Jena, the price of which is being told is between Rs eight crore and Rs 10 crore. Apart from this, along with bank and postal deposit receipts, Rs 2.5 crore and a large number of property documents have been seized.
