Pune, March 20 2022: BSF Seema Bhawani team reached Pune on 18th March in their remarkable attempt to travel the 5280 kms on the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Organized in association with Royal Enfield, the Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition “Empowerment Ride – 2022” was flagged off on 8th March from India Gate, New Delhi and the riders traveled over 540 kms from Kevadia to reach Pune on the 18th via Nashik.
Flagged off on the occasion of International Women’s Day, 2022, the expedition is an attempt to bring forth an awareness about the capabilities of women while emphasizing on freedom from bias, stereotypes and discrimination. The BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition “Empowerment Ride – 2022” also celebrates women’s achievements and aims to forge positive visibility of women, so as to encourage young girls and women across the country in stepping up for taking on major roles in shaping the future of the nation.
Being the second largest city of Maharashtra, Pune is known for its rich Maratha culture and has earned itself the nickname, ‘Oxford of the East’ for being the education hub of the country. Nestled in the Sahyadri mountain ranges near the convergence of the Mula and Mutha rivers, Pune, with its pleasant weather conditions, is an evergreen tourist attraction in India. It is the leading ‘veritable heartland’ of cultural Maharashtra with a growing industrial hinterland, booming information technology, and splurge of automotive companies in the region.
The contingent will leave Pune and reach Hyderabad via Solapur covering over 560 kms in their journey. The expedition then will then traverse through major cities such as Anantapur, Bangalore, Salem, Madurai, and Kanyakumari before reaching its final destination in Chennai on 28 March 2022.
