Bihar, 14th December 2022: Once again, the havoc of spurious liquor has been seen in Bihar, which has banned liquor. In the Saran district, the death toll due to the consumption of spurious liquor has increased to 21, including 10 people from Masrakh, three from Amnaur, and one from Marhaura.

At the same time, treatment of more than half a dozen people is going on in Sadar Hospital and PMCH of Patna. The police administration is refusing to divulge anything about the incident. Police Captain Santosh Kumar said that the entire matter is still being investigated. After the incident, the police force was deployed at Sadar Hospital on Monday night.

In protest against this incident, the angry villagers blocked the Masrakh Hanuman Chowk State Highway-90. Local villagers are raising slogans against the district administration. Villagers are protesting fiercely in Mashrakh. To convince the angry people, senior police officials have reached there along with the police of many police stations.

About the incident, the villagers said that 21 people from Amanour, Marhaura and Mashrakh blocks have died so far due to drinking poisonous liquor brought from Doila of Isuapur police station area. Many are seriously ill. All the sick have been admitted to Masarak Health Center. From there, one person has been referred to Chhapra Sadar Hospital. He is undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital.

Reportedly, all the people had drunk alcohol at one place on Monday evening. After this, their condition started deteriorating on Tuesday. All were admitted to Masrakh Health Center in the evening. Three people died after being referred to Chhapra after treatment there. The liquor consignment has allegedly reached the area.
