Bareilly, 27th November 2022: Sonu Kumar Singh, a 29-year-old Army member of the 24 Rajputana Rifles, lost both legs after being allegedly shoved off the Rajdhani express at the Bareilly train station on November 17. He passed away on Wednesday from his wounds. He passed away from septicemia, according to medical professionals.
The event happened when a Rajdhani Express headed for Delhi was leaving the station following a stop. Singh, a local of Balia, was attempting to join the train to travel to Delhi for a ceremony
On November 24, after the autopsy, the jawan’s body was given to his family, according to Ajit Pratap Singh, inspector in charge of GRP Bareilly. He added that a case had been opened against TTE Supan Bore as a result of subedar Harendra Kumar Singh’s complaint.
On November 17, the slain jawan, who was assigned to the Rajput battalion in Jaipur, is said to have been shoved from the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express onto Platform Number 2 of Bareilly Junction.
Sonu was travelling to Delhi when he alighted the train at the Bareilly station at around 9.15 am to get a water bottle, according to subedar Singh’s complaint. The Subedar also said that Sonu’s leg had been severed and the other had been severely crushed in his complaint.
Earlier, the railway officials asserted that Bore shoved the soldier out of rage following a dispute over the ticket.
Sonu Singh underwent three operations at the military hospital, but his critically wounded leg also required to be amputated on Monday. He remained unconscious throughout this time and passed away on Wednesday night.
Four teams have been sent to arrest TTE Bore, who is still at large. He will be lodged in jail on charges of criminal homicide.
