New Delhi, 17th January 2022: Apple has a huge demand in India. The company has achieved a growth of 48 per cent in the year 2021. Apple’s market share was a record 4.4 per cent. During the year 2021, Apple shipped a record of 5.4 million iPhones in a year. During the fourth quarter of 2021, shipments of 2.2 million iPhones were made in the festival season.

According to CMR, a Gurugram-based market research firm, Apple has recorded a growth rate of 34 per cent from October to December. The year 2021 proved to be the best for Apple in India. During this, the company shipped a total of more than 5 million iPhones.

According to Prathu Ram, head of Industry Intelligence Group CMR and Apple, during this period, Apple has done the work of reaching 4.4 per cent of the market.

The reason for the increase in demand for Apple iPhones in India is due to an increase in domestic manufacturing, fierce retail initiatives and heightened consumer demand during Diwali. In India, Apple is working with several ODMs to produce its flagship iPhone models. The market share of the iPhone 12 was about 40 per cent. It was the most in-demand model in India in the fourth quarter of the year, followed by iPhone 11, SE (2020), iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max models.

In the third quarter of the year during July-September, Apple sold more than 1.53 million iPhones. The iPhone SE 2022 version is rumoured to be launched in the first half of 2022.

For the first time, Apple doubled its smartphone market share in India to around 4 per cent in the festive quarter of 2020.
