Agra, 21st August 2022: The gate of Agra College did not open for the Higher Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He did not get entry into the college even though the minister was invited as the chief guest in the painting exhibition and competition. His car was stopped by the peon at the college gate. After waiting 10 minutes, the angry minister’s convoy returned.

The four-day Aaradhya International Painting Exhibition and Competition were to be inaugurated in the Painting Department of Agra College on Saturday. The exhibition is sponsored by the Visakhapatnam Port Authority. The inauguration was to be held at 11 am in the auditorium of the college. The Chief Guest was Union Minister of State for Law and Justice SP Singh Baghel and State Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay. The minister reached the college gate at the given time.

But his car was stopped at the main gate of the college itself. According to the information, his car stayed there for about 10 minutes. Even after this, if he was not given entry, then the minister’s mercury went up. The angry minister returned with the convoy. As soon as the college administration came to know about this, there was panic. After coming to the college gate, the security personnel were interrogated. It is said that some teachers also called the minister but there was no answer from the other side.

Union Minister of State SP Singh Baghel attended the program. According to college sources, he stayed in the program for about one and a half hours and saw the competition, also met the college teachers. After getting information about this matter, the very angry Principal asked the organizers to go to the Higher Education Minister’s house and apologize. On this occasion, the organizers went to the minister’s house and presented the bouquet. Apologies for the inconvenience caused to the Minister and invited to the closing ceremony. However, the minister has not agreed to come to the conclusion.

“I’m on vacation. When I came to know, I was informed. There was an exam in college. After leaving the exam, the students were leaving and the students of the second exam were going inside. There is a forest guard exam on Sunday. The administration had also held an examination-related meeting in the college auditorium. It will be investigated, and action will be taken”, said Dr Anurag Shukla, Principal of Agra College.

“I went to attend the event. There was an exam in college. There was a huge crowd at the gate itself. There were also many vehicles. There was no place to enter. I have been a former student leader. I didn’t want to disturb the students in any way. So he went back. I am not angry with anyone”, said Yogendra Upadhyay, Higher Education Minister.
